Snowmobiling Season has begun!

Well, we moved right from the hunting season to the snowmobiling season.  I’m not sure which season makes my dear husband happier, it’s probably a tie.  Either way we get to enjoy the great outdoors.

We spent this past weekend at the cabin in the awesome upper peninsula of Michigan.  On Friday we just took a quick little jaunt to the Michigamme Reservoir, buzzed around on the ice a bit and headed back to the cabin.  On Saturday, we did a 150 mile loop from the cabin in Amasa, to Iron River, toward Watersmeet, to Kenton, over to Sidnaw and then back home to Amasa.  The trails were absolutely awesome.  We were fortunate enough to see some turkeys and deer along the way.  No bald eagle sightings though, maybe next time.

Just look how happy Richard is on his yellow Ski-Doo. 1525745_790550644295578_371556121_n[1] Hmm, perhaps my next novel should include a snowmobiling adventure….

  1. Boys and their toys. My husband is from Michigan (Grand Rapids) and we lived there together for 4yrs. It was my first time living up in a state so far north (I’m from Maryland). I remember when we were driving in Sparta, during the winter, seeing snowmobile tracks running alongside the road and my husband telling me to help him keep an eye out for snowmobiles. I looked at him like he was crazy lol then that following spring he took me to my first dirt drag event! Lol sometimes Michigan felt like a separate world/culture but it holds fond memories. I hope to one day buy a cabin up in Mackinaw to escape to from time to time.

    1. Darla,
Michigan is it’s own little world, especially the Upper Peninsula. LOL

Mackinaw is so beautiful and would be a great escape destination.

      Thanks for visiting and commenting.

      1. In the 4 years I lived there I never got the chance to visit the UP. It’s definitely on my bucket list.

  2. Snowmobiling sounds like so much fun – akin to motorcycling in the summer. Glad you’re having a good time!

    1. Snowmobiling is a great deal of fun. I would imagine your probably right about it being akin to motorcycling in the summer.
