For those of you who read my blog regularly, you know I rarely talk about my day job. Well, today we’re going there-in a small way anyhow. In an effort to improve the overall health of our employees, we implemented a Wellness Program. Though we tried this several years ago it didn’t stick. Since then we’ve regrouped and are giving it another shot. Somehow I wound up on the Wellness Committee and am now in charge of leading the charge in the Couch to 5K program. Though I can hike and climb little mountains with the best of them, running is not my thing. I don’t like to run nor am I built to run. I don’t have long legs and I’ve never been light on my feet. As some of you have seen in my photos, I’ve more the build of a shot putter. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Since I’m on the Wellness Committee and leading the charge on the Couch to 5K, I’ve decided to stop whining about this and get on board. You know, lead by example, so I loaded a Couch to 5K app on my phone today and gave it a whirl. It was NOT good. Especially since my runner husband was with me. Next time he can stay home. And yes, you’ve read correctly, there will be a next time. I’m gearing up for round two on Tuesday.
Here’s proof that I’m not a total Couch Potato:

Have any of you done a Couch to 5K program? Did it work? Are you still running? Any advice?
